Rev. Trish Fegan – Spiritual Leader
A life-long student of metaphysics, Reverend Trish Fegan answered her calling to enter ministry after studying the Science of Mind (SOM) teaching. Studying under Dr. Arleen Bump, Senior Minister of the Center for Spiritual Living in Fort Lauderdale, Rev. Trish was licensed as a minister by the International Centers for Spiritual Living in 2009.
An award-winning communicator, Reverend Trish enjoys putting her over 20 years of experience to work, through enthusiastically speaking about and teaching the Science of Mind principles – always peppered with her sense of humor. She has had the opportunity to share her passion for metaphysics through speaking engagements across Florida – and in print in Creative Thought magazine. Currently, Rev. Prior to stepping into the Senior Minister role at Miami Center for Spiritual Living, Rev. Trish served as Staff Minister of Community Outreach for CSL Fort Lauderdale. In that role, Rev. Trish has shared the Science of Mind teaching at interfaith gatherings, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, and spiritual gatherings and has done outreach work with groups including, assisted living and pet therapy organizations.
Rev. Trish believes that each person is “a drop of infinity pushed into visible form so the Divine can experience more of itself as us.”
Everyone is welcome to the Miami Center for Spiritual Living to join our Sunday celebration at 10:30 a.m. It is always a “come as you are” gathering.
Hortensia Nunez, RScP, PhD – Practitioner
Dr. Nunez is a licensed practitioner with over 30 years experience, as well as holding a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, where she served Miami-Dade County’s domestic violence program for spousal abuse and family counseling. Dr. Nunez is now in private practice, focusing on a holistic vision that can see the individual as an indivisible unity of body-mind-soul-spirit and environment. Her long career in university teaching and scientific research includes the participation and the implementation of varied psychotherapeutic models relevant to the fundamental, beliefs, aspirations and philosophies of the individual. In addition to her counseling and practitioner work, Dr. Nunez’s also specializes in the use of quantum cold wave lasers. She has been with the Miami Center for Spiritual Living for over two decades.
Ash Herrin, RScP – Practitioner
Ash Herrin is a licensed practitioner who has recently joined the Miami Center for Spiritual Living. She has been studying and practicing the Science of Mind principles for over a decade and is honored by the opportunity to provide Spiritual Mind Treatment to others.
She is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture Physician, Herbologist, Homeopathy Practitioner and a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist. She is licensed by the State of Florida and is nationally certified by the NCCAOM (National Certification and Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine).
Born in the United States, Ash’s career took her to Asia from 1982-1989 on a modeling career. Her time in Asia ignited a passion for Eastern culture and Oriental medical practices. After returning to the U. S., Ash studied Oriental Medicine and acupuncture at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine where she served on the Board of Directors.
Ash fulfilled a post graduate study to become the only certified Toyohari Japanese Meridian Therapy practitioner in Broward County, Florida. Toyohari style acupuncture is a gentle non-insertion form of acupuncture.
In addition, Ash is a volunteer coordinator for Acupuncturists Without Borders, a non-profit organization designed to give acupuncture treatments to communities in crisis from disaster or conflict. She has been a member of FSOMA (Florida State Oriental Medicine Association) since 2005 and a former board member.
Ash practices kundalini yoga, meditation, Qi Gong and holds a second level Reiki practitioner license.
Marti Capodiferro, RScP – Practitioner
Marti Capodiferro has been performing since 1977. She has been in Broadway type shows, revues, operas, contests, children‘s theater, been a karaoke hostess, performed for weddings, funerals, and sporting events. She has been singing for Science of Mind since 1993.
Marti has participated in Eastern Conference/Circle of Love from 1995 through 2005, serving as a congregational music leader, featured soloist, and workshop facilitator. She has also served musically at Asilomar. Marti was the Music Minister at the Oasis Center in Miami for 5 and a half years, is a Licensed Practitioner, and has traveled to Science of Mind churches in Ohio, Texas, and throughout Florida as a speaker, singer, and concert entertainer.
Marti could never figure out which of style of music to focus on, so she can sing it all: opera, Broadway, pop, gospel, blues, classical, jazz! Her heart and soul pours forth in all her music, and the Science of Mind philosophy and her spiritual practice enable her to give an uplifting spin on just about anything she shares with her audience.
Karen Strolis Lewe – Director of Music

Karen Strolis Lewe, Director of Music of the Miami Center for Spiritual Living, feels blessed to have so much rich experience and to share her spiritual joy through music. She has been a member of the Center for more than 10 years and has served two terms as Board of Trustees Secretary. Each week it is her pleasure to bring her artistic expression, cheerful smile, and inspirational music to the celebration service with poignant solos, uplifting congregational songs, and calming, loving, meditational chants. She also coordinates and designs the power point presentations so that everyone may share in the enlightening messages, music, and lyrics to sing out with enthusiasm and rejoicing.
During her career as an accomplished vocalist, she has toured the U.S. with a show-band, played various clubs in London, and performed with the Ken Williams Trio at several venues in the Greater Miami area. As a member of the Lakewood Players and Lee Pittman Players she has performed reviews of Cole Porter, Gershwin, and Rogers & Hart. Her musical talents have also been shared, here in Miami, at the Olympic Torch Running Ceremony, The American Cancer Society’s Relays for Life, Special Olympics, Compassionate Friends, weddings, memorials, celebrations, and the S.O.U.L. and Unity Churches.
Karen’s business acumen has been honed as a professional with 20-years in advertising, marketing, and production. Expanding her career endeavors, currently she holds a position with the United States Attorney’s Office as a Legal Assistant. Her ambition to strive for excellence shines throughout the many facets of her personal and professional life blessings.
